Thinkathon: The Idea that Lived

I had a great opportunity to facilitate a Design Thinking workshop with a multidisciplinary group of students from the School of Management & Information Technology (SMIT) and the School of Design & Arts last November 18-19 at the SDA Architecture Hall.  I was with another Benildean associate Jenesis Adriano of the Center for Instruction, Research & Curriculum and Julienne Santos a SMIT Information Systems Student.  Also assisting us were Kakuei Araral (HIFI), Jeremiah Adriano (CIE), Alyssa Nicole Mombay (CIE) and Lorenzo Antonio Aguilar (BSE).

The event was aimed at teaching the participants the design thinking framework by learning how to have a problem-solving mindset to creatively develop products and services that will solve issues affecting our society.  The students were tasked to ideate and provide solutions for the design challenge or theme: “Benildean Innovations for Disaster Resilience.”
